Roane State Community College opticianry students won scholarships to attend the Contact Lens Society of America's (CLSA) annual conference. CLSA is dedicated to the education, evolution and promotion of contact lens technology. The organization held its conference April 25-28 in Newport Beach, Calif. Students were asked to write papers to win the scholarships, and 11 Roane State students were chosen. Honorees were:

Roane State Community College music students earned honors at a regional solo vocal competition that included performers from four-year universities.

Area students have made the fall 2011 dean's list at Roane State Community College. To be eligible, a student must attain at least a 3.5 grade-point average while attempting 12 or more semester hours.Here is a list of students who made the Dean's List.
